Environmental planning is totally new term for me when I came first time to D365FO.As I was working on earlier version of Ax(Ax2012 R2 ,R3 ,Ax2009 ,Ax4.0). As all the previous version are in on- premises So we have Infrastructure team (Admin) who take care of the servers.But things get changed as we move to cloud ,so we have to subscribe VM from MS and pay as you go(usage basis). To Reduce cost and optimal usage of environment ,activate when require .So Environmental planning become critical part of any D365FSCM implementation projects.
As per business requirement ,partner can propose different machine with specific configuration.(DEV,Build,sandbox,production,performance,load testing etc).
